The search for a missing Donegal man has been stood down following the discovery of a man’s body.
Gabriel McCarron was reported missing from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal on Tuesday, October 8 2024
Gabriel's body was found late on Saturday evening following an extensive search by Gardaí and volunteers.
In a statement, Gardaí said: "Following the discovery of a male body earlier today in Letterkenny, the missing person appeal for Gabriel McCarron, 57, who was reported missing from Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, on Tuesday, 8th October 2024, has been stood down".
"No additional information is available at this time. An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in this matter".
Earlier on Saturday, officers had made a renewed appeal for information on Mr McCarron who had been missing since last Tuesday.
