A man in his 30s has died following a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the early hours of Saturday morning in Co Longford.

Gardaí are currently at the scene of the fatal road traffic collision that occured at Kilnashee, Drumlish, County Longford in the early hours of this morning, Saturday.

At approximately 1.15am, gardaí were alerted to a single vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist. The driver of the motorcycle, a male aged in his 30s, was fatally injured during the collision.

The R198, Longford to Drumlish road, remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene. Diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area at the time of the incident are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
