RTÉ broadcaster Miriam O'Callaghan has corrected her pronunciation of a US presidential candidate's name after her phone was "hopping" with messages about the mistake.
The faux pas reportedly occurred during a Prime Time segment on the US elections last night (Thursday July 26), which focused on current Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump, who are expected to face each other head-on in November.
Speaking to fans from Dublin Airport, O'Callaghan addressed her mispronunciation of VP Harris' name in a short video clip which she posted on her official X (formerly Twitter) page with the caption, "A morning lesson Kamala."
O'Callaghan, who stated she is on her way to London, said, "Let's just say I now know. It's not Kamala Harris as in Pamela, it is Kamala Harris as in a comma, the punctuation mark."
She continued, "So I have it, you don't need to tell me anymore. It's Kamala Harris, bye!"
The video has since amassed over 80,000 views.
