Traffic-heavy road reopens after overnight crash sees male pedestrian hospitalised

Diversions were in place at the junctions of N81-Fortunestown Road and N81-Citywest Road

Gardaí have confirmed the section of the N81 in Tallaght, which had been closed after a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian, has reopened.

The crash occurred on the N81 in Tallaght, and occurred shortly before midnight on Monday, June 24, 2024.

The male pedestrian was taken to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of his injuries, which are understood to be non-life threatening.

A section of the N81 in Tallaght was closed while Gardaí conducted a technical examination of the scene.

Diversions were in place at the junctions of N81-Fortunestown Road and N81-Citywest Road.

Enquiries are said to be ongoing.
