Gardaí have seized a new car that was bought just minutes after its owner was spotted speeding in a built up area.
According to An Garda Síochána, officers in Cork City observed the car travelling at high speeds and stopped the driver, who was found to be driving solo on a learner permit.
They discovered the driver had bought the car just a few minutes previously and had no insurance, tax or NCT.
The car was seized and the driver will be called before the courts.
In a social media post highlighting the incident, a Garda spokesperson quipped, "Buyer's regret?"
