Gardaí arrest drunk driver after discovering car tax expired over 470 days ago

A Waterford motorist whose car tax was expired for almost 500 days has been arrested. 

Gardaí in Waterford City Roads Policing Unit carried out a check on their mobility device which showed the tax on the car was expired for 477 days and there was no insurance. 

The driver also failed a roadside breath test and now faces a day in court. 

The car was seized.
