Limerick lotto player wakes up as Ireland's newest multi-millionaire

The ticket that saw a Lotto player in Limerick woke up as Ireland’s newest multi-millionaire was sold at a store in Garryowen.

The National Lottery confirmed that Saturday’s jackpot winning ticket worth €8,970,934 was sold at G O Stores, Garryowen, Limerick.

Saturday’s jackpot win marks the third Lotto jackpot win of this year.

The Limerick City store was also the selling location for one of the largest wins in National Lottery history. Dolores McNamara famously became the first EuroMillions jackpot winner in Ireland after purchasing her winning €115 million ticket in July 2005 which marked the biggest lottery win in Europe at the time.

Officials from the National Lottery will be at the Limerick store on Tuesday, April 23 to officially announce the winning location.
