Herbal cannabis worth an estimated €121,000 was seized this Monday

Two men have been arrested following a significant drugs seizure in County Waterford.

Herbal cannabis worth an estimated €121,000 was seized this Monday during an intelligence-led operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Waterford Divisional Drugs Unit.

During the operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 6.1 kgs of herbal cannabis - the exact location of the seizure has not been disclosed for operational reasons.

"Two men in their 50s were arrested by An Garda Síochána and are currently detained at a garda station in County Waterford under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996," confirmed a Revenue Spokesperson.

Investigations are ongoing.
