Social media users have reacted to the 'shocking' difference of price between a rural Irish pub and one in Temple Bar.
One X (formerly Twitter) user posted pictures of receipts from his visit to a pub in the small village of Lecarrow, Co Roscommon and that of a trip to world-famous Temple Bar, Dublin.
10 drinks and three bottles of wine set the pub-goer back €65.30 in Lecarrow, which is situated between Athlone and Roscommon town.
In comparison, three pints of Guinness, three glasses of wine, and seven other drinks came to a total of €130.70 in The Temple Bar pub - double the price, compared to that of Coffeys Pub in Leacarrow!

People reacted by saying: "That place is a rip-off", "Absoultely off the charts!" and simply, "Jayzus".
While some people flocked to the comments to share their shock of the price difference, others noted that it was hardly a fair comparison. "I always think Temple Bar is not a fair comparison to the bog, it’s exorbitant in Dublin already. An average pub should be used," one wrote.
Another chimed in, saying: "In fairness, every major city in the world is like that! Comparing tourist central with rural Ireland non starter".
