Gardaí said a man in his 40s has been charged in relation to the discovery of a body in Naas and is due to appear before Naas District Court this morning.

The body of a man was discovered at approximately 1.30pm on Sunday at a residence in Eustace Demesne outside the town.

The body was removed to the Mortuary at Naas General Hospital for a post mortem - the results of which would determine the course of the Garda investigation.

The scene at the house off the Craddockstown Road in Naas remains preserved for technical examination by gardaí.

The man in his 40s was arrested on Sunday and detained at a Garda Station in County Kildare under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
