Ireland will welcome some much-needed drier and warmer weather next weekend but not before a nasty surprise.

Forecasters at Weather Alerts Ireland have said things will turn colder before they get warmer and there may even be wintry showers in the next few days.
They warned: "Before we get to the settled weather next week it is going to get colder as colder air pushes over Ireland.
"After a very mild few days, colder air is on the way and temperatures are to drop around 4 or even 5°C lower than average for this time of the year.
"This colder air will begin to push in tomorrow from the North West.
"Monday is expected to bring heavy showers with some of these wintry. Snow is possible on higher ground above 300 metres," they warned.
"This cooler air is expected to remain over Ireland until midweek before turning warmer. There is a risk of some frost also so gardeners take note.
"Drier weather expected from Tuesday as high pressure builds in from the West."
The Weather Alerts Ireland team delivered further good news with temperatures creeping close to 20C next week.
"After a chilly start to the week more settled and dry weather is expected to arrive as high pressure pushes over Ireland.
"Later in the week into the weekend warmer air is expected and temperatures on Sunday are forecast to reach 18 or even 19°c.
"Now this is a little off so we will keep an eye on the forecast but saying this high pressure is set to finally dominate our weather from Tuesday keeping things mainly dry and bringing some very nice sunny spells."
