Cannabis with an estimated value of almost €200,000 has been seized by Revenue officers.
The intelligence-led operation - which took place in Co Monaghan today (April 10) - resulted in the seizure of approximately 9.7kg of herbal cannabis.
The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Louth Cavan Monaghan Crime Hub.
A male in his 30’s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained at a Garda Station in County Monaghan under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
