The counting of votes in the two referendums began at 9am
The counting of votes is underway at count centres across the country following the two constitutional referendums which took place on Friday.
Polling stations closed at 10pm on Friday and the sorting and counting of ballot papers began at 9am this Saturday.
The indications are that turnout for the Family and Care referendums was relatively low despite there being a surge in some locations after teatime on Friday.
The counting of votes is taking place at local count centres in every constituency with the results being fed into the national count centre at Dublin Castle.
The national result of the Family referendum will be declared first followed by the national result of the Care referendum expected in the evening.
Given the low turnout, both results are expected by the early evening.
