Gardai investigating allegations of historical abuse at a school in County Dublin have charged an elderly man.
The man, who is aged in his 70s, is due to appear before a sitting of Dun Laoghaire District Court in south Dublin this Monday.
In an update on the ongoing investigation, a garda spokesperson said. "Gardaí have charged a man in connection with ongoing investigations into allegations of alleged historical abuse at an educational establishment in South Dublin."
It's understood the investigation has been ongoing for some time and that this Monday's development follow the submission of a file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
