Cases of new Covid-19 variant 'rapidly increase' as details of odd symptoms are shared

In recent weeks, there has been a significant surge in new cases of the JN.1 Covid variant.

On Wednesday, known infections rose from 381 to 598, making it a 56.96% increase compared to the week before.

If you are under the weather at the moment, these are the symptoms to look out for:

- Runny nose

- Cough

- Headache

- Weakness or tiredness

- Muscle ache

- Sore throat

- Trouble sleeping

- Worry or anxiety

The HSE has listed fatigue, a high temperature/having chills and a dry cough as the main three Covid symptoms to look out for.
