A Ryanair flight experienced an unsettling event shortly after takeoff from Dublin Airport this Thursday.
The pilot of Flight FR670 reported hearing a "loud bang" and simultaneously received a warning light in the cockpit to Air Traffic Control (ATC).
It has been revealed that a member of the cabin crew informed the pilots that the incident was suspected to be a tail strike.

FR670 has just informed ATC that they heard a “Loud Bang” just after takeoff.
Pilots also received a warning light, but I’m unsure what the warning is.
The aircraft is now returning to Dublin.

After the incident, the aircraft did not declare an emergency.
The plane then tracked north to burn excess fuel before returning and passengers were accommodated on another plane.
A spokesperson for Dublin Airport has said: "Flight FR670 to Birmingham returned to Dublin Airport shortly after it departed last evening.
"The flight departed at 7:58pm and landed back at 8:31pm, with the support of the Dublin Airport team.
Passengers were transferred to alternate aircraft."
A spokesperson for Ryanair has stated: "The aircraft landed normally and was taken for inspection by engineers."
They added that the replacement aircraft was "quickly arranged to operate this flight, which departed for Birmingham one hour and 40 minutes later."
