National: Timeline on Irish energy credits with first €150 boost available this week

The first electricity credit of €150 is just one day away following the government's announcement on October 10.

The first credit will start to be available from December 1, 2023, while the second credit instalment of €150 will start to be available from January 1, 2024.

The third and final credit, €150 once again, will start to be available from March 1, 2024.

The Government Electricity Credit will be automatically available to residential electricity customer accounts and no action will be required from the customer.

Some households may not be able to view the first credit on their bill until December or January depending on when they are due to bill.

For pay as you go customers, the first credit instalment of €150 will be automatically applied to your PAYG meter from December 1, 2023.

The second credit instalment of €150 will be automatically applied to your PAYG meter from January 1, 2024.

The third credit instalment of €150 will be automatically applied to your PAYG meter from March 1, 2024.
