AFTER severe flooding in Midleton due to Storm Babet, Cork Kerry Community Healthcare has assured families that all residents are safe and receiving the necessary care at Midleton Community Hospital.
The hospital team are said to be actively working to establish direct contact with all affected families after the flooding incident forced a number of residents to be relocated within the complex this Wednesday.
The organisation expressed its heartfelt gratitude to their dedicated staff and other statutory agencies for their efforts, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in the area, particularly at the community hospital.
The section of the hospital affected by the flooding is currently under assessment, with the likelihood that it may be some time before it can be safely occupied again.
As of this Thursday, the primary focus is said to have been on assisting residents who had been residing in the flooded section of the building.
Plans are underway to ensure they are comfortably accommodated in interim accommodation.
The flooding caused significant disruptions to several HSE services situated on the grounds of Midleton Community Hospital. The McAuley Day Centre, Public Health Nursing clinics, dental services, and physiotherapy services are closed today.
Ongoing assessments of the situation are said to determine the status of these services for this Friday, and an update will be provided as soon as possible.
