RANK and file gardai will refuse to work voluntary overtime from this Tuesday as they are prepared to take industrial action.
Members of the Garda Representative Association (GRA) will stop their services every Tuesday until November 10,
The GRA have assured the government that their industrial action will not have any major impact on their frontline duties.
They disagree with Commissioner Drew Harris’ plans to go back to their old rostering system, which they say would negatively impact their services.
Going back to such a system would mean that rank and file gardai would have less time off and allowances.
