IN A HEARTWARMING tale that has been dubbed as "Electric Picnic magic," an emotional journey unfolded this week, offering solace to a distraught child who had lost her beloved Winnie the Pooh blanket at the three-day festival last weekend.
A member of Garda Síochána Laois Offaly retrieved the blanket, affectionately known as Poo, at the Main Arena and put out a call to the public through a series of heartfelt posts on social media platforms, including Facebook to find the owner.
"There may be an upset little person out there that it means so much to," the post wrote.
Their plea did not go unanswered and social media users rallied behind the cause, sharing the post far and wide until, finally, a reunion was orchestrated after the festival's conclusion.
The mother of the fortunate little owner, Avril Keane, took a moment to express her gratitude on the same social media platform, saying, "Thanks so much once again. We're overjoyed to be getting this back for our precious little girl."
In response to the reunion, festival goers flooded An Garda Síochána Laois Offaly's Facebook page with messages of gratitude and admiration for their dedication in reuniting the child with her cherished blanket.
