"Get the BBQ and ice-cream ready for our two day weather special coming this Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures up to 26C." says forecaster Alan O'Reilly.

"But when it’s gone, it’s gone," the Carlow weatherman added.

Check out the Met Éireann forecaster below:

Cloud will thicken in the southwest and west through the day with outbreaks of rain developing and slowly spreading eastwards across the country later. Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 or 25 degrees in moderate to fresh southeast winds.

Friday: Blustery with sunshine and widespread passing showers, some heavy and possibly thundery across Atlantic counties. Southwest breezes will be moderate to fresh and gusty. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees, highest across the east and northeast.

Friday Night: Spells of showery rain developing along Atlantic coasts overnight Friday, pushing inland through the night. Remaining breezy with moderate to fresh southwest winds. Continuing mild with temperature not falling below 13 to 15 degrees.

Saturday: Spells of showery rain continuing through the day Saturday, with heavy falls possible at times, along with spells of sunshine. Breezy with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds. Fresher with highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees.
