ALERT: Irish parents warned as popular retailer recalls baby floating device due to drowning risk

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a product recall alert for a baby floatation device due to a risk of drowning.

Retailer Decathlon is carrying out a recall of Nabaiji Baby Lying Ring after a safety issue was identified, whereby there is a possibility of the buoy overturning and as the child is tied to the product, their head could remain underwater causing them to drown.

The product, branded Nabaiji, were placed on the Irish market and sold between 01 February 2023 to 23 June 2023. There are approximately 106 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

The model numbers are 8752138, 8752140, 8752139. The bar codes are 3583787258873, 3583787258972, 3583787182925. The batch numbers are unknown.

If you have purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
