A number of intercity train services were disrupted on Monday evening after an incident at a train station in the midlands.
It is understood that the rescheduling and delayed resumption of some services was due to an incident at the Tullamore train station.
Local reports said that emergency services attended the scene.
This resulted in a number of trains returning to Athlone, with a bus service provided from there.
At approximately 10 pm on Monday night a train remained at the train station in Tullamore.
