Gardaí have charged a man in his 30s in connection with the discovery of a suspect device at Tallaght Garda Station.
The man was arrested by officers on Friday (May 26) and a bag in his possession was inspected.
As the bag contained contents of concern, the Garda Station was evacuated as a precaution and the Irish Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was requested.
Some road closures in the vicinity of the Garda station were also put in place.
The man was detained under Section 30, Offences Against the State Act, 1939 and is due to appear before Tallaght District Court, this morning Monday (May 29) at 10.30am.
Tallaght Garda Station has since reopened to the public and all road closures have been lifted.
The Irish Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team have completed their examination of the bag and contents, which will now be subject to further technical and forensic examination.
