Valentine's night musical treat for showband lovers in Limerick

There is a stellar line-up of well-known names for the concert in Limerick

Niamh Kavanagh is among the stars performing in Reeling in the Showband Years

FOR music lovers, there is a special night in store at University Concert Hall (UCH) this Valentine's Day.

Reeling in the Showband Years will be in Limerick on February 14.

Featuring a host of legendary voices, including Ronan Collins, Limerick native Shaun O'Dowd and Niamh Kavanagh. 

This will only be the second appearance by Niamh in the 24-date tour. Best known for her Eurovision performance, Niamh is a national treasure. 

She will perform her Eurovision song In your Eyes and other songs, while Ronan Collins is also host and compare.

The show also features Keith and Lorraine McDonald, the sibling duo from one of the oldest musical families in Ireland. Their father Frankie played trumpet with Joe Dolan for many years. 

Tullamore man Dave Lawlor who had a huge hit with Showbands on Parade in the 70's will also perform.

The show also features hits from the Conquerors Showband and their hit Baby Blue. 

For the outstanding finale, all performers will join together for an all-cast salute to the showband era. 

All of the iconic voices will join together for a stunning medley of songs from the unique showband era, dearly loved by so many. 

Audience members are advised that strobe lighting may be used. Anyone affected by flashing lights or who suffers seizures is asked to contact the box office before booking to get further information and clarity.
