BRITISH guitarist and producer Boz Boorer is in Limerick this Friday for a double header of gigs.
Morrissey’s co-writer and band leader will perform live and have a chat with avowed Moz fan Dr Eoin Devereux of the UL Sociology department on Friday at 1pm in the Tower Theatre, Irish World Academy, before later retiring to Dolan’s Warehouse to spin some tunes at 11pm that night. Admission is free to both events.
Boorer is probably best known for his work founding the new wave rockabilly group The Polecats and later for his work as co-writer, guitarist and musical director for Morrissey, a position he has held over the past 22 years.
Boz, widely credited for introducing that rockabilly sound to Morrissey’s music, will speak about his life and career at the event.
