THE Munster Rugby squad has started preparations at their High Performance Centre at UL this week ahead of Friday’s mid-season fixture away to Leicester Tigers and the upcoming URC Round 13 clash against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun late this month.
The team for the Leicester fixture at Welford Road will be released on Thursday afternoon.
On the injury front, centre Alex Nankivell made his return from a hamstring injury against Edinburgh and came through the game with no issues.
There is good news for Patrick Campbell as he returns to training this week following a shoulder injury sustained in September.
On the international front, Tadhg Beirne, Peter O’Mahony, Calvin Nash, Jack Crowley and Calvin Nash were all in action for Ireland in their 6 Nations defeat to France on Saturday.
Five Munster players lined out for the Ireland U20s in their loss to France on Friday including Tom Wood (Garryowen), Academy duo Michael Foy and Gene O’Leary Kareem (both UCC), Eoghan Smyth (Cork Constitution), and Conor Kennelly (Highfield).
Continuing to rehab: Shane Daly (hamstring), Jack O’Donoghue (ankle), Diarmuid Kilgallen (thigh), Mike Haley (ankle), Dave Kilcoyne (thigh), Thaakir Abrahams (shoulder), Craig Casey (knee), Jean Kleyn (thigh), Liam Coombes (chest), Edwin Edogbo (Achilles), Roman Salanoa (knee).
