THIS afternoon's tussle between Munster Rugby and English Premiership side Saracens in the Investec Champions Cup will be one of the most important games of the season for the Munster men.

The Sarries' sit in second place of pool three, one place ahead of Munster, who recorded a win and a defeat in the opening rounds of the cup.

This third round clash in Munster's home ground of Thomond Park is made even more significant as a win against Saracens will take the pressure off the side who face top of the table Northampton Saints away the following weekend. Two wins will be enough to see Munster qualify for the Top 16 of the competition, a position Munster desperately what to reach.

Speaking about how important the game against Saracen's really is Munster Rugby attack coach Mike Prendergast stated: "It's going to be a huge game. You are playing a team full of quality, who showed that last week against a good Bristol team. There is a bit of excitement there after having some time off and we spoke about our performance against Leinster and everyone got stuck in.

"The energy was there from the start on Monday morning. Everyone knows how big a week this is for the club and it's where you want to be. We are lucky to get some players back and look you need that type of experience in these sort of games because Saracens have plenty on their side."

Munster's huge Champions Cup clash this afternoon will kick-off at 5:30pm with live TV coverage on RTÉ 2 and Premier Sports.
