MUNSTER Rugby interim head coach Ian Costello was 'impressed' with his side's opening round display against Stade Francais in the Investec Champions Cup in Thomond Park on Saturday night.
Costello and his coaching team will look to freshen up the squad that will travel to France next weekend to take on Castres Olympique on Friday evening, 8pm Irish time, live on Premier Sport.
With only a six day turnaround from their home victory against Stade Francais on Saturday evening, Costello spoke about the short week his side will face and the need for freshness in training.
"We are taking two days off, it's important that we are fresh. It's been a big focus of the group to train fast and feel like we are ready and prepared, but the lads deserve the rest they have been working very hard. We will come in and have a short week just to sharpen the focus and we will freshen up the squad.
"The squad is healthier and more competitive so we can make a few changes to bring that extra bit of hunger and bounce going to Castres in a few days time."
Munster's opposition next Friday night will be looking to get their first win of the Champions Cup after an first round defeat at the hands of Northampton Saints.
This will be Munster's final Champions Cup game this side of Christmas with the next two group games against Saracens and Northampton Saints taking place in January.
