MUNSTER Rugby's Mark Donnelly has been called up to join the Emerging Ireland squad ahead of their South African tour. A number of players have become unavailable for selection leading to Donnelly linking up with the team alongside Ireland Sevens back Chay Mullins and Leinster’s Charlie Tector.
The Munster prop will rejoin his province teammates Sean Edogbo, Ronan Foxe, Alex Kendellen, Evan O’Connell, Danny Sheahan, Ethan Coughlan, Sean O’Brien and Ben O’Connor, who were named on the Irish team originally.
The squad will convene on tomorrow morning in the IRFU High Performance Centre before travelling to South Africa on Saturday.
Emerging Ireland will face the Pumas in their campaign opener on Wednesday, October 2 (Kick-off 4pm local time/3pm Irish time), before going head-to-head with Super Rugby outfit Western Force on Sunday, October 6 (Kick-off 1pm local time/12pm Irish time).
Simon Easterby’s side will then conclude the Tour against defending Currie Cup champions the Cheetahs on Wednesday, 9 October (Kick-off 7pm local time/6pm Irish time), with all matches being played at Toyota Stadium.
