INDUSTRIAL equipment valued at millions of euro was on display as Limerick played host to one of the country’s most high-profile technology showcases.
The Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) campus in Coonagh was the venue, as across two days more than 1,000 people attended the Manufacturing Solutions event.

It was organised by TUS in partnership with the British Gauge and Tool Makers Association (GTMA) and in association with the Precision Tooling and Machining Association of Ireland (PTMA).
Now in its ninth year, it is a cornerstone event for industry and the largest event of its kind in Ireland.
It also served as a place to make deals between enterprises, delivering a cross-channel boost.
Among the guest speakers during the exhibition was Quentin Willson, motoring broadcaster and former Top Gear presenter, who is the founder of FairCharge, the British campaign to drive the switch to electric motors.
He spoke about the opportunities for Ireland if it was to fully embrace a move to electrical vehicles.
“Home-grown battery factories are essential and this is the perfect place for them. There is a lot of EU money and a lot of EU will for this, to have them here, and that is on top of the talent and skills,” he told the conference.
