‘Going for Growth’ returns for 16th year

 Aoife McNamara, Limerick fashion designer

A PROGRAMME aimed at female entrepreneurs who want to scale up their companies is seeking entrants for its 2024 intake.

For the 16th year in a row, Going for Growth is back.

Since 2008, more than 900 businesswomen have taken part in these awards, including Adare fashion designer Aoife McNamara.

But the deadline to apply falls soon - this Friday, November 17 in fact.

Supported by KPMG and Enterprise Ireland, Going for Growth helps ambitious female entrepreneurs to achieve their growth ambitions – helping to build stronger companies, create new jobs and increase revenues.

In 2024, up to 60 places will be available, with applications sought from female entrepreneurs across all sectors.

The programme lasts six months and gets under way early next year..

Ms McNamara, who runs a luxury sustainable fashion brand creating garments inspired by nature, encouraged other young female entrepreneurs to take part.

“Going for Growth was one of the most incredible experiences. I will cherish for life the relationships I made with other entrepreneurs for life,” she explained.

Two other local businesswomen who have taken part in Going for Growth in the past also took time out to share their experiences.

Gillian Horan, founder of The Pudding branding agency based in O’Connell Street said: “Fill out the form. If you don't get a place the first time, fill it out again. It will change your business and open your network like no other community.”

Alice Carroll, the co-founder of Foxes Bow Whiskey added: “This programme has given my early stage business an incredible boost. The access to some of the leading entrepreneurs and industry experts along with invaluable resources and support is outstanding.”

Going for Growth national director Paula Fitzsimons said: “The objective of Going for Growth is to encourage female entrepreneurs to become more ambitious; to support them to achieve their growth aspirations; and to realise the full potential of their businesses.”
