LIMERICK's picturesque Greenway will serve as the backdrop for the Focus Ireland initiative On The Move, which hopes to raise essential funds for homelessness.
With a 12,259 people currently experiencing homelessness in Ireland, including 3,594 children, compared to 9,825 people at the same time last year, the urgency to combat this crisis has never been more evident.
In response, Focus Ireland, supported by Horizon Therapeutics, is rallying the community to come together and make a difference.
Participants in the Limerick Greenway Cycle will embark on a 37-kilometre journey, beginning their expedition with a scenic ride through a Victorian-era railway tunnel.
Along the route, cyclists will have the opportunity to visit ancient castles, abbeys, and even immerse themselves in the serenity of a native forest.
To take part in the 'On the move' initiative, individuals and teams are encouraged to register on the Focus Ireland Website.
Participants can select their desired challenge, pay a registration fee to secure their place, and choose whether to join as individuals or teams.
Upon registration, participants will receive an 'On the move' T-shirt, fundraising materials, and dedicated support to help them achieve their fundraising goals.
Pat Dennigan, CEO of Focus Ireland said: “Now more than ever, we need support and help to raise vital funds for our work.”
