LIMERICK woman Martina McMahon is celebrating after winning the Ladies Open Singles title at the oneills.com World Wallball Championships at the University of Limerick on Friday.
Croagh-Kilfinny native McMahon scored an impressive 21-10, 21-9 victory over Fiona Tully, of Roscommon, to claim the crown in GAA Handball's Centenary year in front of delighted home supporters in an attendance of up to 1,000.
McMahon reached the decider after defeating Armagh's Caliosa Ní Dhúill 21-4, 21-2 in their semi-final meeting on Thursday.
To cap a terrific week for McMahon, she also won the small ball open singles division at the oneills.com World Wallball Championships after defeating USA's Myohwa Hwee.
Left-hander McMahon, who is a member of the Broadford club, won the World Senior Singles in 2018 to cap a terrific year for the renowned Limerick star.
