THE Limerick minor hurling side to face Tipperary in the Munster championship at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale tonight, Thursday, 7pm, has been named.

The Shane Dowling-managed Limerick side will be looking to back from their 4-12 to 1-14 defeat to Waterford in their previous outing at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

This result means that Limerick have been knocked out of the Munster championship and cannot now reach the All-Ireland series ahead of their clash with Tipperary.

Manager Dowling will be looking for his side to finish their campaign off on a high note when facing Tipp in Rathkeale.

“Ultimately, it's a learning curve but, at the same time, you still want to win a couple of games and develop and go further into the championship. I played with Limerick for a long time and I'm a very proud Limerick man," Dowling said.

“I'm just trying to instill that into the boys and they need to understand what the crest stands for. Thursday night is going to be a difficult assignment because we are out of the championship. The lads that are playing, they're just going to have to put their best foot forward, it's as simple as that.”
