The Limerick junior camogie management team posing with the Munster Championship cup
LIMERICK junior camogie manager David Deady was "incredibly proud" of his side after they produced an incredible display against Cork to claim the Munster Championship Junior title on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-13.
Speaking after the game David went on to state: "One of the targets we had on our radar for this year was to win a Munster Championship and we have succeeded in that now and I am just delighted for the girls. We have been back training since November 10 so a serious effort has been put in by this team and it showed."
Limerick were full value for their success as they recovered from Cork's blitzing start and might have gone in level at half-time had they taken the chances coming their way.
What turned the game in their favour was the only goal of the hour when Ella Hession inspired her colleagues with the aggression of her retrieval of a seemingly lost chance and the clinical precision of how she finished it.
Manager Deady continued by saying: "The game came at a great time for us and not to point anyone out but Ella has been one of the in form forwards in Limerick this season, but it is all about the team effort and the whole squad contributed to the victory in the end.
"The whole point of the team is to develop the next generation of players for them to transition to the senior team when that time arrives. Playing in this final and the league final earlier in the year has definitely brought on their confidence and allows them to play on a bigger stage as well. We have our eyes on the Premier Junior Championship title and the girls will be hungry for more sliverware now."
