TREATY United will look to record their first win in the SSE Airtricity League First Division in nine games when Athlone Town visit the Markets Field for a crucial fixture this Bank Holiday Monday, 5pm kick-off.

Treaty United's frustrating run has seen the side drop to eighth place in the First Division table and now seven points off the promotion play-off places, the final one of which is now occupied by Monday's visitors to Garryowen, Athlone Town.

An 80th minute goal from Finn Harps' Tony McNamee consigned Treaty United to their fifth defeat in nine games in the league on Friday night last at Finn Park, Ballybofey.

Treaty have been hit by injuries to a number of key players in all sectors of the pitch in recent months. With the likes of strikers Enda Curran and Yoyo Mahdy sidelined through injury, the team has found goals hard to come by.

The Markets Field-based side has managed just three goals in their last eight league fixtures.

Fifth-placed Athlone Town arrive at the Markets Field on the back of a 2-2 draw away to Wexford on Friday night when the Midlanders fought back from falling two goals in arrears early on to secure a point.

Athlone defeated Treaty United 1-0 when the sides met at Athlone Town Stadium in the league in April.
