Limerick's Róisín Ní Riain claims fourth medal at European Para Swimming Championships

LIMERICK swimmer Róisín Ní Riain has claimed a stunning fourth medal at the European Para Swimming Championships n Portugal on Froday evening. 

Drombanna teenager Ní Riain added a bronze medal to her collection when finishing in third place in the Women's 400m Freestyle S13 Final in the Penteada Olympic Pools Complex in Funchal.

UL student Ní Riain clocked a time of 4:44.62 to finish third in the final and bring her tally of medals for the week to two golds and two bronze. 

Ní Riain still has one more event to compete at the Championships, the 200m IM, the heats of which take place on Saturday morning at 10.36am.

Speaking after her latest final on Friday night: Ní Riain said: “Yeah I’m happy that swim. It was definitely a tough one but yeah, happy with the result”.
