Five debuts in Limerick football team for Munster Championship clash with Cork

JIMMY Lee has named his Limerick team for Sunday's opening game of the 2024 Munster Senior Football Championship.

The Treaty meet Cork in SuperValu Pairc Ui Chaoimh this Sunday, April 7 at 2pm in the provincial quarter-final.

There are five players named for their Munster SFC debuts - Darren O'Doherty, Brian O'Sullivan, Emmet Rigter and Bryan Nix all Newcastle West and Cormac Woulfe of St Senans.

Such is the turnover of players in the 2024 panel, of the 19 players that saw action in last year's Munster Championship loss to Clare just six remain - Sean O'Dea, Cillian Fahy, Cathal Downes, Paul Maher, James Naughton and Peter Nash.

There are returns for Childs' brothers Tommie and Bob and Danny Neville, who all opted out last year while Josh Ryan returns after missing last season due to injury but takes up the goalkeeping role and not his previous outfield position.
