BALLYNANTY Rovers qualified for a third-round tilt with Newport in the Lawson Cup after recording a 7-1 win over Moyross United at Moyross on Sunday morning.
The final scoreline suggests a walk in the park for the winners but they were far from impressive for most of the game, proving wasteful in front of goal.
Conor Keane opened the scoring with a fortunate effort. Former Moyross favourite Adrian Power tacked on a second before Stephen Hannon pulled one back for the home side.
Darragh Rainsford made it 3-1 despite the best efforts of Colm O’Mahoney on the line.
After the break Cian Fitzgerald scored with a long-range free kick and Eddie Byrnes made it 5-1.
Shane Dillon made it 6-1 and Eddie Byrnes completed the scoring.
Photographer Brendan Gleeson captured all the colour and excitement from the game for the Limerick Leader.
