LIMERICK'S six senior clubs face crucial energia All-Ireland League Round 14 fixtures this Saturday.
In Division 1A, sixth-placed Young Munster will be looking to get back to winning ways following their weekend loss away at Terenure College when hosting UCD at Tom Clifford Park on Saturday, 2.30pm.
Munsters’ fading hopes of claiming a top four play-off spot suffering another big blow as the Greenfields side succumbed to league holders ’Nure in their repeat of the Bateman Cup final at Lakelands.
The result leaves Munsters’ a full 19 points off the play-off places with now just five series of regular series fixtures to come in the All-Ireland League season.
Meanwhile, also in Division 1A this weekend, Shannon travel to Leeside to take on Cork Constitution at Temple Hill.
Ninth-placed Shannon remain in the relegation zone after suffering a 28-13 defeat to third-placed Lansdowne on the back pitch at Thomond Park on Saturday last.
Shannon are sitting in the relegation play-off position, one point behind eighth-placed City of Armagh and are now seven points clear of basement side Dublin University.
In Division 1B this Saturday's promotion play-off chasing Garryowen host Naas at Dooradoyle.
Garryowen's impressive recent run was halted in the 'Light Blues' 27-28 defeat to St Mary's College at Templeville Road last weekend.
With five rounds of fixtures to come, Garryowen have dropped to fifth place in the table, but the Dooradoyle side sit just two points off second-placed Old Belvedere.
Meanwhile, in Division 2A this Saturday, old Crescent host Banbridge at Takumi Park. Old Crescent leap-frogged local rivals UL-Bohemian to sit fifth in the table, thanks to an exciting 23-22 victory away to Malone at Gibson Park last weekend.
Crescent led Malone 15-10 at half-time on Saturday at Gibson Park, as Sean Donnarumma and Darragh O'Brien crossed for tries and Ronan McKenna added a penalty and conversion.
The Rosbrien side added a third try through Jack O'Mahony following a McKenna break to lead 20-10.
UL-Bohemian have dropped to sixth and lie a point behind Crescent in their battle to secure a promotion play-off place after the Red, Red Robins fell to a 34-31 defeat to Ballymena at Eaton Park. The Limerick side did claim two bonus points from the high-scoring game.
UL-Bohs’ host Cashel at Annacotty this Saturday in their latest league outing.
In Division 2C, Bruff make the long trip to The Cran to take on high-flying Clogher Valley this Saturday. Bruff claimed another precious victory after defeating Omagh Academicals 17-10 at Kilballyowen Park last Saturday.
The victory has Bruff well-placed in the promotion play-off race, sitting in third place, four points behind second-placed Galwegians and 10 points adrift of pace-setters Clogher Valley.
