FR CASEY's qualified for the semi-finals of the Irish Wire Products Limerick senior football championship after an impressive 3-15 to 4-03 quarter-final win against Na Piarsaigh at Askeaton on Saturday afternoon.

The Abbeyfeale side will now face Adare in the Limerick senior football semi-finals on Saturday, October 21, in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale. Throw-in is at 3.00pm.

Casey's started the stronger of the two sides with four points after 10 minutes of play. The team linked up well in attack with stalwarts Martin Scannell and David Ward doing damage.

The Caherdavin squad struggled to get scores, only getting two points from free's, until a striking goal from captain Dylan Cronin after 12 minutes, which would be their final score of the half.

The Abbeyfeale men were well ahead at the break after easily getting through Na Piarsaigh's defense on multiple occasions to leave them 1-09 to 1-02 up at the break.

Both teams had a flurry of goals after the break with city side Na Piarsaigh sensing a comeback with goals from Kieran Daly and Gordon Brown.

Fr. Casey's kept their cool though and continued to keep the score board ticking over with points, before goals from Sam Quigley and Martin Scannell.

Despite Na Piarsaigh's best efforts it remained Fr Casey's ahead and the West Limerick side succeeded in closing out a deserved victory.
