COUNTY champions Newcastle West proved too strong for Claughaun in the third round of the Irish Wire Products Limerick Senior Football Championship in Askeaton. 

Newcastle West eased past Claughaun with a 1-12 to 0-5 victory to keep their winning record going.

Newcastle West will be hoping to not only keep their winning streak going, but also try and directly qualify for the semi-finals of the championship when they face unbeaten Kildimo Pallaskenry this Thursday, August 24 in Sean Finn Park Rathkeale at 6:45pm. 

Claughaun now face Oola in their next game where both sides will be anxious for a win in Caherconlish this Saturday at 6:00pm.
