Basketball Ireland has formally ceased the 2020/21 season
LIMERICK Celtics are into third place in MissQuote.ie Division 1 with a 83-72 away victory over SETU Carlow. The win was Celtics' seventh of the season.
Lucy Devoy top scored for Celtics with an impressive 27 points. Celtics continue their promotion push towards the Super League when they return to action with another away fixture against Abbey Seals Dublin Lions on January 14.
Elsewhere in Division 1, Limerick Sport Huskies will also return to action on the same date with a home game in St Munchin's against St Pauls, Killarney.
The Huskies remain rooted to the bottom of the table following their last game in mid-December, a 57-23 derby defeat to Limerick Celtics. A quick reversal of form is needed for the Huskies if they are to improve on their one win and eight defeats thus far.
In the InsureMyVan.ie Men's Division 1, Limerick Sport Eagles and Limerick Celtics also return to action next week. The Eagles currently sit joint top of the division with Moy Tolka Rovers with a nine and two record. They make the trip to fifth placed Dwyers of Cork Fr Mathews next time out.
Meanwhile, Celtics sit in fourth and have a home game against second from bottom SETU Waterford Vikings. Celtics are just six points off top of the table and will be looking to launch their promotion push with an expected win over the Waterford side when they return to action.
