Limerick farmer Paudie set to milk the applause during calving season

LIMERICK dairy farmers in the throes of calving season don't know what day of the week it is but Paudie Ryan has some very important dates in his calendar.
The Cappamore man performs in and is PRO of Rearcross Drama Group's performance of Martin McDonagh's highly acclaimed play The Cripple of Inishmaan.
It takes place in Rearcross community hall on consecutive Friday and Saturday nights - February 17, 18, 24, 25 at 8.30pm.
“We were originally meant to perform this play almost three years ago but had to postpone it just a couple of weeks out due to Covid.
“When we convened a meeting during the winter there was a huge appetite to get back on stage again. So excitement is really building up in Rearcross and the surrounding areas in anticipation of the group’s first performance this Friday night," said Paudie.
There is one change to their original cast as the talented long-time servant Paddy McLoughlin takes a break. He has been replaced by director Gerry Boyle, former Teagasc director. He might even give Paudie a hand to calve some cows after the shows!!
