THE Munster Junior Cup takes top billing this weekend with Limerick’s two remaining hopefuls in action.

Janesboro’s wonderful season continues apace and they are favoured with home advantage against Peake Villa.

The Tipperary side are sitting in second pace behind St Michaels in their league race and come to Pearse Stadium with a deserved high reputation.

‘Boro are in superb form and will go into the tie with no fear. A good mix of youth and experience has given Mike Aherne and Paul Burke’s side a memorable season to date.

Five drawn games is all that is keeping the side from the top of the table while they also have an FAI quarter final in the offing.

A victory for ‘Boro could set up a potential all-Limerick semi-final with Pike Rvs.

The Hoops first must overcome the challenge of Portlaw. Pike host the Waterford side on Sunday afternoon and with a number of players returning from injury should prove too strong for the visitors.

Portlaw have one eye over their shoulder in the relegation race in the Waterford Premier League and while Sunday’s challenge will be a welcome distraction, Pike will be determined to keep their provincial hopes well on track.

In the Munster Shield, Aisling D will be hoping to face Star Rvs in the semi final but first they must overcome Tramore. Aisling visit the Waterford side determined to make up for last season’s cup final defeat.

In the FAI Youth Cup, Pike Rvs are on the road to take on Mervue vying for a place in the last four of the competition.

This Pike side have been excellent over the last 18 months and should enter the tie with confidence.

There is one game in the Lawson Cup where Division 1A side are looking forward to hosting Premier outfit Regional Utd.
Murroe have been playing well in their own division but may find the power of United a step too far.

In the Open Cup Patrickswell host Ballynanty Rvs B while Brazuca welcome Caherdavin Celtic B to UL.

In the Premier League, Fairview Rgs will increase their lead to eight points if they beat Hyde Rgs at the Fairgreen.
In other ties, Mungret Reg host Aisling Annacotty and Carew Park welcome Ballynanty Rvs.

In the Premier A League, Summerville Rvs host Athlunkard Villa while the in-form Corbally Utd will be on the road to take on Kilmallock.
