THIS week's action is fully focused on league action with a full program in the Premier League taking most attention.

In a unique set of fixtures, the top six sides in the league will pair off against each other which should give us a clearer picture come Sunday afternoon.

Leaders Fairview Rgs travel to champions Aisling Annacotty for what should be a cracking tie.

There are three sides tied together in second place. Two of them cross swords when Pike host Mungret Reg. Pike Rovers, should they win their two games in hand could overtake Fairview’s five-point lead. On Sunday they meet a Mungret Reg XI who have been a revelation thus far.

Paul Danaher has done a good job with this young side and they will relish the chance to test their progress at Pike.

The Hoops were good last weekend when they progressed in the Munster Junior following a 2-0 win over Balla and a number of players returning to the squad in the coming weeks should make them an even tougher proposition.

Regional Utd, also sitting in joint second spot welcome Janesboro on the back of a heavy defeat to Aisling last weekend.

‘Boro were held to a draw with Hyde last weekend but generally it is all positive in Pearse Stadium.

The bottom six also do battle with bottom side Newport hoping to get their first points of the season at home to Carew Park.

On paper the Tipperary side possess a strong side but they seem to hit a wall when in league action. Going into the tie as favourites will be a change for them.

Carew Park have shown in recent games that they can make life difficult for any team.

Geraldines, also in need of points to get clear of the drop zone, will get nothing easy when they host Nenagh AFC. The Tipperary side have been in good form despite a 2-1 defeat to Fairview last weekend.

Dines are finding it tough at the moment but they a resilient bunch and will not be conceding anything without a fight.

Hyde Rgs A take on Ballynanty Rovers in the remaining fixture. Hyde picked up a good point last weekend in a 1-1 draw with ‘Boro. Balla exited the Munster Junior at the hands of Pike Rvs.

In the Premier A League, Athlunkard Villa can strengthen their grip on the lead if they can win at Prospect Priory while Summerville Rvs take on Caherdavin Celtic with both sides keen to keep pace with the leaders.

In Division 1A, leaders Moyross welcome Murroe and second placed Star Rvs are at home to Parkville.

With Herbertstown not in action, Shelbourne have the chance to reduce the gap at the top if they can win at bottom side Kilfrush.

Ballynanty Rvs B have the chance to go top in Division 2A when they visit Hyde Rgs B.

In the FAI Under 17 Cup Shelbourne take on Belvedere while Corbally Utd host Holycross.
