AISLING Annacotty made it five consecutive wins on Saturday evening when they edged out Balla to take the spoils in the Limerick District League Premier Division. The game in Annacotty finished 1-0.
There was only one goal in the game, scored by Paul Brennan in the opening half.

Fairview Rangers leapfrogged Regional Utd in the table following a 2-1 win when the sides met on Saturday evening.
The first half was disappointing with neither side able to make a breakthrough.
The second half continued in the same vein, Fairview having plenty of possession but their final ball was letting them down.
They eventually got their breakthrough when a good run by Oleg Vysochan put Darragh Rainsford away on the right and Fairview’s biggest threat all evening scored at the near post.
Rainsford claimed his second when he pounced on a wayward back pass and rounded the keeper before firing into an empty net.
To their credit, Regional kept up the battle and got some reward when Kieran O'Connell struck a beauty from a long-range free kick.
Regional had a great chance to salvage a point in the dying stages of the game when the ball fell to Paudie Hartigan but his shot produced a fine save by Cian O’Brien in the home goal.

Mungret Regional maintained their position as joint leaders of the Premier League with an impressive 5-0 win at Geraldines.
Cian McNicholas put the visitors on their way with a sixth minute penalty kick.
Kieran Long doubled the lead and just before the break McNicholas scored again to leave it 3-0.
After the restart Kian Barry and Kieran Long with his second, completed the scoring.

Pike Rovers remain tied with Mungret after they saw off a good challenge from Carew Park.
The visitors came to the Pike club knowing they were in for a torrid time and did well in the opening 45 minutes restricting the Hoops to a couple of goals from own goal Josh Quinlivan and Eoin Duff.
Against a gale in the second half, Carew were unable to keep out the leaders who added goals from Eoin Duff, Kieran Hanlon, Dylan Murphy and an own goal.

Janesboro continued on their merry way with another three points on board after beating Newport 3-1.
Following a shock defeat to Carew Park in the opening week of the season, Boro have gone 9 games unbeaten and are improving by the game.
Eoghan Burke put the Black and Whites in front but Newport levelled before the break courtesy of Jamie Kavanagh.
‘Boro regrouped at the break and added a couple of second half goals through Burke and Aodh O'hAnluain to take the points.

The Limerick District League’s representatives in the open stages of the Munster Shield became much clearer at the weekend with a couple of the bookies favourites making it through.
Last season’s beaten finalist’s Aisling D showed their mettle, overcoming a stiff challenge away to Moyross to progress. Tommy Canty scored the only goal of the game for Aisling.
Star Rovers took on Murroe at Lee Estate, both sides coming into the tie in top form. It was the home side who triumphed thanks to the finishing power of Aaron Nunan who scored two second half goals to see Rovers through.
Herbertstown as expected were much too strong for Murroe B, running in nine goals without reply. Oisin O'Grady claimed six of the goals with Dan Holten, Harry Fox and Mike Bob Ryan making up the tally.
Granville are another side fancied to make a good run in the competition and they put six past Newtown through Zak Sheehan (3), Ken Nealon, Brian Dillon and Lee Downes
George Daffy gave Croom the lead against Hyde Rangers and two late goals from Daffy and Kevin Laffan saw Croom through.
Mike Kitt and Danny Lipper scored the goals that gave Lisnagry a 2-0 win at Mungret Regional.
Goals from Tyrone Fitzgerald (2) and Sean McGill helped Moyross B to a 3-1 win over Newport for whom John Ryan replied while Summerville B also posted a 3-1 win over Fairview C thanks to scores from Henry Ezomo (2) and Mike Sillery. Jason Roche replied for Rangers.
