THE DRAWS for the Higher Education GAA competitions took place this afternoon. Fitzgibbon Cup champions University of Limerick have been drawn in Group A alongside Maynooth University and last year's Fitzgibbon Cup finalists DCU.
Brian Ryan's charges host Maynooth University in round one on January 7/8 and travel to DCU on January 21/22 during the group stages of the Fitzgibbon Cup.
TUS Midwest will face the University of Galway and UCD in Group C of the Fitzgibbon Cup. The Moylish based college will have a bye in round one and TUS Midwest begin their Fitzgibbon Cup campaign away to UCD on January 14/15 followed by a home tie against University of Galway on January 21/22.
Mary Immaculate College will meet SETU Waterford and ATU Galway in Group D. The South Circular road college get their Fitzgibbon Cup campaign underway at home to SETU Waterford on January 7/8 and for the second year running Jamie Wall's side face ATU Galway in Galway on January 21/22.
Mary I are in Division One hurling league final action when the Limerick college travel to the Marayke, Co.Cork to take on UCC at 7:30pm on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Division One league football champions UL will travel to MTU Cork in the opening round of the Sigerson Cup on January 7/8. The Castletroy college won the Division One league title defeating University of Galway 2-20 to 2-16 last weekend.
If UL are succesful in round one of the Sigerson Cup, David Power’s side will face the winner of DCU and Ulster University in the next round. If they lose, UL will instead play the loser of the match between DCU and Ulster University.
