TWO LIMERICK schools remain in contention for a place in the knockout stages of the Dr Harty Cup on Wednesday afternoon.
Ardscoil Rís and John the Baptist Community School, Hopsital can still reach the quarter-finals of the Munster U19 ‘A’ post-primary hurling competition.Scoil Na Tríonóide Naofa, Doon are unable to reach the knockout stages after suffering two defeats.
Ardscoil Rís take on St Flannan's College, Ennis in round three of the Dr Harty Cup in the Clarecastle GAA club 4G pitch at 1.30pm this afternoon.
Niall Crowe's side recorded a victory over Cashel Community in round one, but came up short against Nenagh CBS in round two.
Limerick U20 star Jack Cosgrove finished up with 0-8 for the city school in their defeat to Nenagh CBS.Sixteen players from Limerick featured for Ardscoil Rís in round two.

St Flannan's College and Nenagh CBS sit level on three points at the top of the table, while Ardscoil Rís are just behind them on two points. Crowe's side need a victory over the Clare school to stay in the competition.
A draw or victory will be enough for John The Baptist Community School, Hospital against Blackwater Community School, Lismore to seal their place into the last eight of the competition. The action gets underway at 1.30pm this afternoon in Castlelyons GAA club, Co Cork.
After a defeat to Thurles CBS in round one, Hospital got their Harty Cup campaign back on track with a win over Doon in round two.
Son of former Limerick hurler Donie Ryan, Tiernan Ryan, was on target with 1-5 in the South Limerick school's round two win.
Thurles CBS have already finished top in group three with a game to spare.
Doon will be aiming to finish their Harty Cup campaign on a high against Thurles CBS this afternoon at 12pm in UL North Campus. Meanwhile, the Dr Harty Cup quarter-finals will take place in January .
